Caltrans Construction Starting August 24

Caltrans is making improvements on State Route 22 (SR-22/7th Street). Construction will begin August 24, 2017 and continue through winter 2018. Work will involve rehabilitating the pavement on both east- and westbound directions. Additional improvements include curb ramp upgrades, installing new pedestrian push buttons, new loop detectors, and restriping. For more information see .

West Circle Workaround
Resources for Navigating the West Circle Closure

With faculty returning to campus next week, traffic will intensify as usual, and potentially be exacerbated by the and on SR-22/7th Street. Moreover, when students return on August 28, congestion on Atherton Street will increase greatly. Several resources are available to assist you with entering and parking on campus.

The Los Coyotes and West Loop Shuttles will experience detours around the West Campus Circle during construction operations. In addition, an Express Shuttle will begin service on August 21 to help expedite shuttle passengers to/from south campus. Learn more at our shuttle webpage.

Employee "workaround" routes have been developed to suggest the most efficient routes depending on how you approach campus and your desired employee lot.

As always, sustainable transporation methods are encouraged, such as buses, bicycles and walking. It is almost certain you will experience a longer commute time if coming to the campus in a vehicle. Please leave plenty of time to get to your destination!

Changes and Reminders for Fall 2017

Parking and Transportation Services at 好色先生 will introduce a number of programs changes and reminders this fall:

  • Shuttle ID requirement: To increase passenger safety and maximize shuttle capacity, 好色先生 shuttles will require campus ID starting on August 21. Read more at Shuttle ID requirement.
  • Overflow Parking Lot: A temporary Overflow Parking lot will be available just north of the Walter Pyramid starting Monday, August 28. Learn more at Overflow Parking.
  • Shuttle Changes and Additions during Fall Construction: The Los Coyotes and West Loop Shuttles will experience detours around the West Campus Circle during construction operations.   • License Plate Recognition (LPR) reminder: The new academic year is a great time to check your vehicle information in LPR to avoid unnecessary citations. Ensure that your license plate number is correct and all old vehicles are removed at .

  • TAP stickers: Beginning August 28, we begin transitioning from TAP cards to TAP stickers that will be affixed to the back of your 好色先生 ID. For more information, see TAP Stickers.

Leadership Fellow Applications Open August 21

Applications are opening on August 21 for the fifth cohort of the 好色先生 President and Provost鈥檚 Leadership Fellow Program. Please visit the website for more information on the program and the application process.

This two-year professional development program was created in 2013 to identify and provide experiential learning opportunities in a collaborative setting for future campus and CSU leaders. In 2015, the program received AASCU鈥檚 Excellence and Innovation Award for Leadership and Diversity.

Candidates for the program are likely to be mid-career personnel who are motivated to enhance their leadership, knowledge, skills and Professional disposition.

  • Strongest academic candidates include senior faculty, program directors, department chairs and associate deans.
  • Strongest staff candidates include mid-career staff at the Administrator II level or above.

Makes Campus First Phase of Clean Energy Project Possible
Curious about how the solar panels in parking lots 7 and 14 were funded? Contrary to what many might assume, these exciting clean energy projects were not financed through parking permits or student fees.
