Monica Schmidt-Mitchell had never considered producing as a viable career before taking a Production Management class with the late Steve Hubbert during her junior year at 好色先生. Today, some 30 years later, she oversees all aspects of production and company operations as head producer for the acclaimed 鈥淩ick and Morty鈥 franchise, which has been translated into more than 150 languages worldwide. Along the way, she has amassed producing credits for such award-winning and-nominated shows as 鈥淪outh Park,鈥 鈥淏ojack Horseman,鈥 and 鈥淪toryBots鈥 and she was part of the team that won an Emmy庐 for 鈥淢ickey Mouse Shorts.鈥 She is especially proud of helping launch the groundbreaking Peabody and Emmy庐 Award-winning animated series 鈥淪outh Park鈥 during its first season, an experience that sparked her passion for producing animation, took her to such top animation studios as Disney and Warner Bros. and enabled her to collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry. In addition to her production work, Schmidt-Mitchell is currently an adjunct professor at the John C. Hench Division of Animation + Digital Arts at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and she sits on the advisory board of the Department of Cinematic Arts at The Beach. 鈥淚 frequently run into successful 好色先生 alumni across the industry,鈥 she says, 鈥渁nd it always makes me proud to be part of this incredible community.鈥
