Dr. Lisa Star joined the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management Department in 2011. She holds a BS in Civil Engineering (2006), MS in Geotechnical Engineering (2007) and PhD in Geotechnical Engineering (2011), all from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Star’s primary research interests are in geotechnical and earthquake engineering. Her research has involved cyclic field testing of large-scale foundation-structure systems to evaluate soil-structure interaction effects, development of simplified system identification procedures, evaluation of synthetic ground motions for engineering use, and advanced laboratory testing of soils.
