Research Talk: Building Environmental Justice with Youth and Communities
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: LIB 201
Dr. Jadallah will explore how community-based projects with youth are revitalizing social and ecological relationships in the greater Los Angeles area. His talk will highlight projects like high school students conducting oral histories on farming and gardening, curriculum co-design with Indigenous youth to revitalize urban wildlife habitats on rematriated land, and youth using arts and advocacy to reimagine the past, present, and future of the Los Angeles River. These initiatives showcase how subaltern knowledge can shape healthier, more just, and sustainable futures.
