Model United Nations
What is MUN?
Welcome to MUN at the Beach! Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulated experience in which students can model what it means to represent a country on the international stage of the United Nations, working collaboratively with other countries to tackle the world’s most pressing issues. Students at ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú can participate in MUN through the club and/or MUN Program anchored around POSC 376 International Law, POSC 378 Politics and Practices of the UN, and POSC 494 Politics of the Future.
Being part of MUN means students will register and participate in MUN conferences throughout the U.S. and the world! In the 2023-2024 academic year, MUN at the Beach has traveled to local conferences in southern California, regional conferences in San Francisco, CA, and national conferences in New York, NY, and Washington, DC.
While this is an exercise in diplomacy and negotiation, conferences recognize outstanding delegates in each committee. These delegates receive an award and/or certificate based on their pre-conference submissions or their performance at the conferences.
