Photography at the Garden
The EBM Japanese Garden allows guests to take casual and hobbyist photographs free of charge during open business hours with a standard reservation, as long as all parties remain on designated paths. This does not permit staged or professional photography, including the use of equipment such as tripods, reflectors, or selfie sticks.
The Garden reserves the right to request visitors to pause or stop photography at any time for any reason.
Photography Permits
For staged and professional photography, photo permits are available for purchase. See below.
Please note: A standard Garden reservation does not include a photo permit.
What is included with the Photo Permits?
- Option to wear attire of choice.
- Private Garden access for two hours.
- Ability to set up equipment and take photographs anywhere in the Garden, not limited to walkways.
- One Free cup of Koi Food.
- Two Complimentary Parking Passes for designated lots.
Photography Session Rates:
- Two-hour session:
- Weekdays: $400
- Weekends: $600
- Additional time: $200 per extra hour
Each permit includes two complimentary parking permits. Additional parking is available for $15 per car.
Film Permit Fees
- Minimum 10 days' notice required for booking.
- Filming (4 hours): $7,000
- Additional hours: $1,000 per hour
- Parking: $15 per car, up to $650 (or the current rate set by 好色先生)
Other filming fees may include:
- Insurance
- Fire Marshal
- Film Permit
- Catering Truck
- Leasing Preparation
- Leasing Coordination
- Custom Signs
- Staffed Police Officer
* The above fees are determined by the University and will be outlined at the time of inquiry.
Permits are scheduled based on Garden availability, and student rates differ from above.

A nonrefundable Garden fee is required at the time of booking.
EVENT CONSIDERATIONS
No pyrotechnics are allowed.
There is only one restroom on site. If additional restrooms are needed, it will be up to the user to arrange a rental.
No loud noise is allowed between 10pm and 7am.
Other restrictions may apply and will be outlined in detail at time of booking.
