Zoe Engstrom, a lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Cal State Long Beach, spoke with the online personal finance company about pros and cons of zero-based budgeting.  Engstrom said while the budgeting process is effective, it takes more effort and discipline to implement.
