Rick Behl, professor of geology in the Department of Earth Science at Cal State Long Beach, spoke to the as part of a scientific team investigating an underground trove of marine fossils beneath a San Pedro high school. Behl said the group was like a team of detectives, using the fossils to find clues of what the environment was like at the time the animals were alive.
