Interim Department Chair, Adam Moore Receives 好色先生鈥檚 2022 Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award

Each year 好色先生 recognizes faculty from across the university for their achievements and the impact they make in the classroom. This year, Film & Electronic Arts Interim Department Chair, Adam Moore was one of two faculty members selected from the entire university as the recipient of the 鈥淒istinguished Faculty Teaching Award.鈥

Prior to teaching at 好色先生, Adam gained recognition in the industry as the the Co-Creator (with Kevin Abrams) and Executive Producer of , an hour-long drama series on Netflix. The series is an action-adventure crime procedural set in a young and wild America. It draws from the real cases of Pinkerton's National Detective Agency founder Allan Pinkerton, his son, William, and America's first female detective, Kate Warne, as they solve crimes throughout the "Wild West" of the 1860s. He has also co-developed film and television projects for Dark Horse Entertainment, Spyglass Entertainment, Red Wagon Entertainment, State Street Pictures, Sparkler Entertainment, Relativity Media, FilmNation Entertainment, Silver Pictures, Landscape Entertainment, and LBI Entertainment; as well as video game projects for Ubisoft, Digital Embryo, Codemasters UK, and IBM / Walt Disney World EPCOT Center.

Adam began his teaching career in the Film & Electronic Arts Department in January 2012 as an adjunct professor before becoming a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Screenwriting in August 2016. Throughout his time in the department, he has served as the head of the Screenwriting track, Chair of the Department Curriculum Committee as well as the department鈥檚 representative for the College of the Arts Curriculum Committee. He now serves the film department as Interim Department Chair and has already begun to make an impact with his visionary leadership and passion for student success.

In the classroom, Adam inspires and uplifts students by helping them develop their stories and share their diverse voices through their screenplays and film projects. He also serves as the faculty mentor for the department鈥檚 student organization 鈥淭he Writer鈥檚 Block鈥 where he connects with students who have a passion for screenwriting and supports club events. It is clear from the relationships he builds with his students that he is an advocate for their success and well-being. Nichole Smith, president of Writer鈥檚 Block shares her experience working closely with Adam in and outside of the classroom: 鈥淧rofessor Moore has helped to create a space and community where I have the support to thrive as a screenwriter at 好色先生.鈥
