"Dr. Caputi is the kind of professor I want to be and the kind of person I want to be. She reignited my love for learning and my passion for helping others. On the weekdays she teaches feminism and environmentalism, inspiring students to make the world better. On the weekends she does it herself, volunteering at nonprofits. Dr. Caputi鈥檚 kind soul is matched by her bright mind. Especially in her feminist philosophy class, she鈥檚 challenged me to think about things I鈥檝e never thought about, making me a better student and better human. To put it mildly, I鈥檓 fighting for my life senior year. But I鈥檓 not fighting alone. Just two days ago as of writing this I called her at 7am during a crisis and she reassured me. 鈥淵ou鈥檒l get where you鈥檙e going Isaac, it鈥檒l be okay鈥. She saw in me what I didn鈥檛 see myself. I鈥檇 joke that Dr. Caputi was just a nice old lady who told every student they were Harvard-material. But then I believed her. I published my honors thesis, presented in Seattle, and applied for graduate schools because she believed I could and made me believe.
