Events and Public Talks

Shark Lab students and staff attend various events including:

  • Dana Point's Ohana Fest
  • LA's Sci Comm Camp
  • Surfrider's Ohana Fest
  • Laguna Beach Kelpfest
  • various schools' STEM nights
  • and many others

These events expand our outreach program to many audiences where we discuss our research and advice for beach safety to the public. Our team also presents at K-12 schools along Southern California about our research on juvenile white shark populations along the Southern California coast, to help reduce shark fear among younger generations.
