Equipment Reservations
Notes for all tracks:
- Equipment reservations are made only via email to the CINE Equipment Center.
- Equipment requests require that a current be on file.
- Students must sign the agreement form each semester.
- Reservations must be sent in on time, time frames for specific tracks are listed below.
- Reservation time frames are only a minimum. Always try to make your request further in advance to allow enough time to prep your reservation, but no further than two weeks in advance.
- All productions must have estimated production dates submitted to the Production Office and Equipment & Production Facilities coordinator ASAP.
- Operating hours may vary and access to CINE reservable equipment may be cancelled or changed at any time.
- All requests must include your Production ID, which allows the Equipment Center to know if your production is approved on the Greenlight Checklist.
Notes for specific tracks
Scripted productions must first complete the following steps no less than two weeks in advance of production:
- Submit your properly formatted equipment request draft to your class Equipment Submission Draft file. This is located in your class folder provided by your professor.
- Email the Equipment & Production Facilities coordinator to coordinate an equipment meeting to approve your equipment draft. It is strongly suggested that students discuss equipment use with other scripted productions reserving gear on the same weekend before sending in your request for review.
- If your equipment draft and meeting are not completed two weeks in advance, you will be denied equipment.
All approved scripted production requests must then be submitted to the E-Center by 12pm noon on the Monday the week of your checkout.
All scripted production checkouts are on Thursday or Friday and returned on Monday.
- Weekday checkouts are not permitted, unless prior approval from faculty and staff.
Reservation requests should be made by 12pm noon two business days in advance whenever possible. However, Creative Nonfiction students can ONLY make a request by 12pm noon, one day in advance, with the consent of instructor.
- Thursday or Friday Creative Nonfiction production checkouts are due back on the following Monday.
- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday checkouts require the consent of instructor and return dates vary.
- Longer checkout periods are possible but require approval from Equipment & Production Facilities Coordinator & CNF Faculty
307 students may check out a sound recorder during their approved class windows to complete their assignment.
Checkout limit:
- One checkout per assignment.
Check out periods:
- Monday checkouts are due back Thursday,
- Tuesday checkouts are due back Friday,
- Wednesday checkouts are due back Friday,
- Thursday checkouts are due back Monday,
- Friday checkouts are due back Monday.
- Longer checkout periods are possible but must stay within the checkout window and require approval from your professor and the Equipment & Production Facilities Coordinator.
Reservation requests to the Equipment Center must be made by 12pm noon at least two business days prior to checking out equipment.
- For example, reservations must be received no later than Tuesday at 12pm noon for checkout Thursday afternoon.
